Conformation shows help evaluate breeding stock by comparing each dog with the ideal described in the breed standard.
Form supports function
A sound Weimaraner should reflect the speed, endurance and balance needed in the field.
What happens at a show?
Judges examine dogs standing and moving. Competition progresses through classes to Winners, Best of Breed, the Sporting Group and ultimately Best in Show. Club specialties bring Weimaraner exhibitors together for breed-focused competition.
Experienced WCWDCA members can help newcomers understand entries, handling, grooming and ring procedure.
