Develop the hunting partnership

Hunt Tests

A pass/fail program that evaluates a pointing dog against defined standards.

Hunt tests focus on whether each dog meets the requirements of its level—not on defeating another dog.

Junior, Senior and Master

Dogs generally run in braces over live birds for approximately 30 minutes. Junior Hunter introduces the fundamental search and pointing work. Senior and Master Hunter require increasingly polished bird work, steadiness, cooperation and retrieving.

These are walking events, making them approachable for owners who want to develop and demonstrate their dog’s natural ability.

Try it with the club

WCWDCA traditionally hosts hunt tests and members often provide training advice. Observing or volunteering is an excellent first step.
